I enjoy the flexibility that nursing has offered me as a career. I have practiced in many different fields of nursing including surgery, obstetrics, home health care, and nursing education. I have a master's degree in nursing from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. I am board certified in inpatient obstetrics as well as women's healthcare nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority. In addition to teaching nursing at UE, I also work as a nurse practitioner at a family planning clinic. I am involved in numerous campus committees and serve as the faculty and co-personnel advisor for Chi Omega Sorority. I am a member of the Associate of Women's Health, Obstetrical, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and fulfill leadership roles in the local chapter. I am a member of the Perinatal Education Partners, and have served on the Grant Review Committee for the Greater Evansville Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation since 2002. I teach nursing courses at freshman, sophomore, and junior levels. I love teaching and being part of the process our students go through as they develop into wonderful, caring nurses. It is very rewarding! |
