University of Evansville National Need for Nursing Scholarship

The University of Evansville is proud to announce its National Need for Nurses Scholarship, worth $18,000 per year. This award is for students applying for admission as an entering freshman for Fall 2012. Students must be accepted into the nursing program and meet specific academic criteria in order to be considered for the award. To be considered for this award, complete an Application for Admission.

Hospitals often provide financial assistance and scholarships for nursing students at UE. Below is a description of aid that is available from our local hospitals.

Deaconess Hospital Nursing Scholarship

Deaconess Hospital offers a Nursing Scholarship to nursing students in their senior year. Students interested in applying for this scholarship have to submit their application materials during their junior year. The nursing scholarship is awarded once a year in two installments: fall semester and spring semester.

Deaconess Hospital also provides tuition reimbursement to their employees who are seeking a degree related to healthcare. Another program offered to Deaconess Employees is the Step-Up Program. This allows employees to receive a full-time paycheck by counting hours they spend at school as hours worked in the hospital. This is good for people that needs a full-time paycheck yet want to pursue higher education. Only selected positions are eligible. AACN Scholarships And Financial Resources For Nursing Students

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is the national voice for America's baccalaureate- and higher-degree nursing education programs. AACN's educational, research, governmental advocacy, data collection, publications, and other programs work to establish quality standards for bachelor's and graduate-degree nursing education, assist deans and directors to implement those standards, influence the nursing profession to improve health care, and promote public support of baccalaureate and graduate education, research, and practice in nursing – the nation's largest health care profession. National League for Nursing

ARMY Part-Time Positions for Nurses

  1. $15,000-$30,000 Health Professionals Bonus Program
  2. $50,000 Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program
  3. $14,000 a year during your CRNA Training

Health Professionals Bonus Program

Provides a bonus of $5,000 per year for ADN's for a maximum of three years. Provides $10,000 per year for BSN's for a maximum of three years.

Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program

The Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program provides up to $50,000 for repayment of educational loans for nurses.

Specialized Training Assistance Program

Stipend program for nurse anesthesia and critical care nurses currently enrolled in accredited programs. Participants receive a monthly stipend of $1,905.

Awards a $250 scholarship to a qualified student with a disability. Preference is given to undergraduates.


Indian Heath Service

IHS administers a program to help repay undergraduate and graduate loans of health professionals in return for full-time clinical service in Indian health programs.


National Association Of Hispanic Nursing

NAHN awards $2,000 annually to students earning a master's degree in a maternal-child nursing program and $1,000 to student members enrolled in any level nursing program, including baccalaureate.


National Assocation Of Neonatal Nurses

NANN offers scholarships for members pursuing a BSN or graduate degree in neonatal nursing or nursing administration.


National Black Nurses Association

NBNA offers a Student Nurse of the Year award to an NBNA member in pursuit of a baccalaureate or other advanced nursing degree.


Nurse Loan Repayment And Scholarship Program

This program is administered by The Division of Nursing at HRSA, is available for registered nurses. Participants must serve at a health facility in an underserved area to receive loan repayments.


Oncology Nursing Society Foundation

The foundation awards academic scholarships specifically for students pursuing bachelor's degrees.


After College/AACN Scholarship
